The UK Standard Visitor visa allows tourism, family visits, and permitted business activities for up to 6 months. Priority and Super Priority processing are available at select centres.

Step 1: Complete online application

Apply on gov.uk/apply-uk-visa. Select Visit as the visa type. Complete all sections honestly. Save the application reference number (GWF number).

Step 2: Pay visa fee

Pay the 115 visa fee online. Priority: 500 (5 working days). Super Priority: 1,000 (next working day). Fees are non-refundable.

Step 3: Book biometrics appointment

Book at a UK Visa Application Centre (UKVCAS). Available in major cities globally. Bring the appointment confirmation and application summary sheet.

Step 4: Prepare supporting documents

Valid passport, travel itinerary, hotel bookings (refundable recommended), bank statements (6 months), payslips, employment letter, accommodation proof, and previous travel history.

3-5 days

Step 5: Attend biometrics appointment

Provide fingerprints and photograph. Submit supporting documents (scanned or physical depending on centre). Some centres offer document scanning assistance.

1-2 hours

Step 6: Track application

Track via the UKVI portal using your GWF number. Standard: 15 working days. Priority: 5 working days. Super Priority: next working day.

Step 7: Collect passport

When notified, collect your passport from the VAC or receive via courier. Check the visa vignette for validity dates, number of entries, and conditions.
